Introduction    : This lesson focuses on reading. Teacher reads the words given.

Content Standard       : 2.2 Pupils will be able to demonstrate understanding of a variety of linear and non-linear texts in the form of print and non-print materials using a range of strategies to construct meaning.

Learning Standards     : 2.2.1 Able to read and apply word recognition and word attack skills by
(a)                matching words with graphics
(b)               matching words with spoken words

Objectives       : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to match words with spoken words and words with graphics.

1. Set induction  : 5 minutes 

                                                    -  Teacher pastes a body parts puzzle on the board.
                          -     Pupils match the parts to the body.
                     - then bring out the theme and the topic of the lesson.

2. 2rd step         :  15 minutes

                         -Teacher points to a body part and ellicts the answer from the pupils.
                         - Pupils respond to commands to point to parts of their bodies.
                         -Pupils read the words repeatly ( read individual&  in group )


3. 3rd step          :  10 minutes

                       -Pupils work in group to throw a bean bag at  corresponding flash card.


4. Last step         : 5 minutes
                           - conclusion.

                           -Pupils match picture cards to the corresponding words. 
                           -Pupils read all of the words aloud.

DAY 4 (Language Arts)
Theme : World of Knowledge
Topic: Thing around us
Focus : Language Arts

Introduction          : This lesson focuses on language appreciation focusing on enjoyment
                               and creativity.  The main focus of this lesson will be on getting
                               pupils to respond to the jazz chant using non-verbal gestures.

Content Standard  : 4.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be
                                     able to enjoy and appreciate rhymes, poems, and songs
                                     through performances.

Learning Standards         : 4.1.1 Able to enjoy nursery rhymes, jazz chant and
                                                  action songs through non-verbal response.
                                         4.1.2 Able to recite nursery rhymes, jazz chant and
                                                  sing action songs with correct pronunciation and

Objectives  : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to recite the chant with
  correct tapping and rhythm.

2. Teacher chants the jazz
chant and pupils listen.

4. Teacher recites the chant with simple gesture
    (tapping table) and pupils follow.

5. Pupils chants and do the
   gesture without guidance.

6. Teacher divides the 
    pupils into groups.

7. Pupils recite the chant in
   groups with the focus on
   the  initial phoneme /b/.
